Solo, Offline, and Cloud
Documentr comes in three variants. You choose the path at registration — not later in Settings.
| Solo | Offline | Cloud | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who | One person, iPad as the workplace | One person, no ongoing cloud | Team, museum, studio, gallery |
| Sign-up | In the app or on the website | iPad app only | Website Register |
| Sync | Yes, as backup | No | Yes, for the team |
| Web app | No — the app is the workplace | No | Yes (logo, PDF, members) |
| Second device | Via sync | .docr.bak backup and support |
Sync and members |
Invited teammates are not a fourth product: they get an email and sign in on the app. See Invite members.
Solo
One person, the iPad is home. Reports live on the device and sync with the cloud when a network is available — as backup, not as a team feature.
After approval, sign in on the app with the code from the email. The admin dashboard is for Cloud organizations; a Solo account shows a notice there to use the app.
Offline
One person without Documentr cloud after activation. No sync, no web app. The license stays on this iPad. You back up data yourself as .docr.bak.
Offline is not “Solo without Wi‑Fi”. Solo can work without a network and sync later. Offline does not need the server after activation. Details: Offline license.
Cloud
Team, museum, or studio: web app, members, sync, conflicts, forms. Registration is on the website (in the app, Cloud opens Safari). After approval, set up the organization in the web app first, then the iPads.
Registration and approval
- Choose a path (app: three cards; website: Cloud or Solo)
- Name, email, privacy consent
- You get a confirmation that the request was received
- After approval, a second email: Cloud with a link to Admin, Solo and Offline with a code for the app
In early access we review every request, including Offline. There is no license or account without approval.
Pricing follows this phase: Early access.
