Offline license
The Offline product line is for one person who wants Documentr without an ongoing cloud. After activation the app does not need the Documentr server to open.
That is different from working without a network on Solo or Cloud: there, data stays local and syncs later. Offline has no sync.
Overview of the three paths: Solo, Offline, and Cloud.
Activation
- In the app, Create account → Offline
- Name, email, privacy consent
- Wait for the approval email
- Enter the code in the app — the license is stored on this iPad
During early access the license does not expire. Protection is the device lock (iPad PIN or Face ID), not an extra PIN inside the app.
What the app does not do afterwards
- No cloud sync, no sync button
- No web app, no team invitations
- No sign-out that removes the license from the device — changing devices goes through support
Backing up data
Reports live only on the iPad. Back up regularly in Settings as .docr.bak (ZIP with database and images). You can keep that archive in iCloud or Files — not on Documentr servers.
Without a backup, data is gone if the device is lost.
Changing devices or suspending a license
A second iPad does not receive the license by itself. Contact support: the previous binding is cleared, you get a new code, and you activate on the new device. Reports move only if you restore a .docr.bak first.
If a license is suspended, the device learns that the next time it has a network. Without a network the app still opens.
Same as Solo: the built-in default template. No custom PDF templates in the app in this phase.
