Working offline

The mobile app stores artwork images, condition reports, and annotations locally in a SQLite database on the device — so you can keep working in storage areas, during transport, or without Wi‑Fi.

That applies to Solo and Cloud. The Offline product stays without cloud after activation: Offline license. Overview: Solo, Offline, and Cloud.

Web app (Cloud)

The web app is not a second offline product. An open condition report stays available during a short interruption; mapping may only be created if it can be saved afterwards.

Brief dropouts: a “connection interrupted” notice; drawing stays possible for a few seconds
Confirmed offline: drawing and form edits are locked. Zoom and viewing remain. An unsaved draft is kept locally and saved after reconnect
Display: how long the connection has been missing, and until when the session can still save the draft (about 90 minutes)

Switching between reports while offline is not required and not supported.

Synchronization (Solo and Cloud)

Pending changes sync with the server on app start when you are signed in and online. An interval sync (default 15 minutes, optionally Wi‑Fi only) also runs, and you can trigger sync manually in Settings. Flow, interval, full sync, and conflicts: Syncing with the mobile app.

Offline has no sync.

Local backup & restore

Settings include a manual backup:

Format: ZIP archive .docr.bak
Contents: database snapshot including images, plus a checksum manifest
Restore: pick an archive, validate, and restore

This is the on-device data backup — not a cloud backup service.

Encryption note

The local database currently uses SQLite. Additional on-device DB encryption (e.g. SQLCipher) is planned but not the production default yet.
