Image formats & upload limits
Documentr stores artwork and report images as master files. The same rules apply in admin, mobile (sync), and CSV import.

For CSV image import additionally: at most 200 images and 500 MB total per import batch (before conversion).
TIFF conversion
8-bit RGB or greyscale TIFFs are stored as JPEG quality 95 without changing pixel size (width × height). The ICC profile and dpi tag are kept. The original TIFF is not retained.
16-bit TIFFs over 50 MB are rejected — JPEG cannot store 16-bit. Please export as 8-bit JPEG or 8-bit TIFF.
Colour space & bit depth

Please convert CMYK files to RGB (ideally sRGB) before uploading.

PDF output
Master files stay unchanged. For download and archive PDFs, Documentr scales embedded raster images according to image quality in PDF settings. Logos with transparency stay PNG. The mapping in the PDF is SVG and is independent of this raster setting.
Mobile & TIFF notes
- In the web app on a phone (Android/iOS browser) you can take a photo or pick an existing image from the device gallery. Documentr’s media library is separate.
- On iPad, the camera/library may keep HEIC locally. For sync and server upload you need JPEG, PNG, WebP, or TIFF — otherwise the upload fails.
- Large 8-bit TIFFs (e.g. uncompressed camera files around 250 MB) can be uploaded directly; the progress bar shows the upload and then conversion. Scan TIFFs over 250 MB, or 16-bit files over 50 MB, exceed the limit.
- CMYK still needs to be saved as RGB before upload.
